My blog is about words. I am passionate about writing, and even though I am no Ernest Hemmingway, William S. Burroughs, I am Anna Grace Young, and the blog is my life. Just read it.
That's very tasteful. I thought your room would be a bit more garish, with Kurt Cobain featuring on the walls~(!)
My darling Gledwood,I have a small photo above my desk of Mr. Cobain with Mr. William S. Burroughs, outside Burroughs' home in Kansas, and they seem to be looking at the vegetation in the yard. I'm unsure if it is the back yard, or front yard. When I first saw the photo(s) I was surprised at how surprised I was that Mr. Burroughs lived in a very modest home. Rather weather worn, and from the one photo of inside the home, it seems Mr. Burroughs was a bit of a pack rat, and all very old furniture. I wouldn't be surprised to find out Mr. Burroughs kept the furniture he gathered since the mid to late 40's. Burroughs' came from a somewhat wealthy family, and lived off his monthly stiepan from his trust fund which allowed him to use drugs, and write, and attend college when younger. I would think by the time this picture was taken in late '93 or very early '94 that Burroughs himself would be independently wealthy and was living very modestly as compared to what he could have afforded. I wish we could post jpg's in comments. I will leave a suggestion on the suggestion page. I will be posting more photos of my room today. As far as ever needing to buy new bedroom furniture for myself again in my lifetime.
I thought that Burroughs must have been a rich bastard. How else did he fund himself through a chronic heroin habit most of his entire life through... I mean, he was a good writer, but not exactly top of the bestsellers lists year after year... I'd really like to read that book "Junkie" he wrote...
Merry Christmas to you & family! Big hug XoXO
